Hull Minster are delighted to be hosting a Medieval Festival this year as part of their HT600 Project. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for a day of unique entertainment, there’s something for everyone!

They are hoping to harken back to ancient traditions this year on their 600th anniversary, hosting a Medieval Festival in front of Hull’s most striking medieval landmark – experience the sights, sounds and splendour of the Middle Ages!

  • Wander through authentic period shelters and encounter immersive actors who bring the past to life with engaging stories and demonstrations.

  • Marvel at the skill of craftspeople, fletchers and merchants showcasing traditional trades and wares.

  • Be delighted by the antics of jesters and entertained by live musicians performing period tunes.

  • Enjoy contemporary medieval games, explore unique artisan stalls and soak in the atmosphere of a bygone era.

Six The Musical

The crowning glory of Broadway, the West End and beyond, the international smash hit musical Six makes its royal return to Hull following its previous sold-out run.

From Tudor queens to pop princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st Century girl power.

These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red!

The Big Malarkey Festival

The Big Malarkey Festival is Hull’s first ever children’s literature festival, brought to you by Hull Libraries and funded by the James Reckitt Library Trust and Arts Council England.

It is a celebration of children’s literature for everyone aged 0-16 years.

Four days of activities for schools (June 23-26) and a glorious weekend of fun for families (28-29 June 28-29).

The festival includes amazing artists, authors, illustrators, performers, poets, writers, musicians, makers, dancers and dreamers!
