This is Humber: A year of real change, remarkable impact

In just 12 months, the Humber Place Brand has evolved from a set of values into a living, breathing force for change.

Since its official launch during Humber Business Week 2024, the brand has become a catalyst for connection, collaboration and confidence across the region. Future Humber has worked side by side with businesses, local authorities, academia and community partners to ensure that the brand’s four core values -  Revolutionary, Resourceful, Real and Remarkable - are not only understood, but put into action.

To support this, Future Humber and the Place Steering Group have delivered presentations, workshops and interactive sessions across the region - engaging senior leaders, marketing teams and frontline staff. These sessions have helped bring the brand to life, showing that the Humber Place Brand is not just a marketing tool, but a powerful narrative that everyone can own and apply.

One year on, more than 200 Place Brand Ambassadors have stepped forward to help carry this shared identity far and wide. These ambassadors are helping to reveal and reinforce the real Humber - through their words, actions and impact. Across sectors and across towns, they are shaping messaging, projects and partnerships that reflect the values at the heart of Humber.

Two inspiring ambassador meetings - at Docks Beers in January and the Mercure in May - created space for shared belief and practical action. Ambassadors took part in storytelling, collaborative exercises and purpose-led pledges, gaining the tools, knowledge and confidence to understand the brand and embed its values. From creative tasks to leadership discussions, these sessions strengthened the link between brand and behaviour.

The Humber Place Brand has stepped beyond the region, taking its message to national and global platforms. In April 2025, Future Humber and 14 organisations took the Humber Place Brand to the global stage at Innovation Zero - the UK’s largest net zero conference, hosted at Olympia London. Under the banner of a striking four-metre-high Humber Pavilion, the region presented a unified, confident voice to national and international delegates. The showcase featured transformational projects in clean energy, demonstrating how the Humber is not just part of the energy transition, but how it’s leading it too.

Through a shared voice, Humber made it clear: we are ready to drive a new industrial revolution built on collaboration and purpose.

This is a region-wide movement powered by belief, reinforced by behaviour and visible in action. It lives in the people who speak proudly about this place, and in the organisations that choose to stand for something bigger.

And now, one year on, it is starting to shape how Humber is seen - both by those who call it home and those looking in.
