‘Seed celebration’ event focuses on local food production
By Simon Bristow, Co-Editor
An event celebrating community food production will be held in the city centre on Saturday, February 22.
The Hull Seed Celebration will take place at Jubilee Central in King Edward Street from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
As well as showcasing ongoing work across the city, and introducing people to ways to get involved in growing their own fruit and vegetables in Hull, and of being more climate conscious food consumption, the event will also celebrate 20 years of Hull being a Fairtrade City.
There will be seed-sharing, a range of talks, plus stalls, handicrafts and giveaways at the family-friendly event.
The event, organised by Hull Food Partnership, will also see the launch of the Hull Growers’ Handbook for 2025.
Talks will include the Right to Grow and there will also be a film and discussion on mapping Hull’s resources.
Entry is free and from the Waltham Street entrance.
